Method of calculating popularity and how to use it.
  • On Instagram the popularity of a particular hashtag is equal to the frequency of its use.
    The frequency of use is the number of posts on Instagram with a specific hashtag.
    It follows from this that the popularity of a set of hashtags is the total number of posts of all hashtags included in the set.
  • The more popular a hashtag set is, the more likes and followers you can get from it.
    At the same time, the more popular a set of hashtags, the faster you have to add it to the description of the post or comment to it, because the feed of hashtags is chronological and posts on more popular hashtags quickly replace each other at the top of the feed.
How to understand and use color codes (red, orange, yellow)?
  • Red - High popularity - More than 10,000,000.
  • Orange - Average popularity - More than 1,000,000 and less than 10,000,000.

  • I haven t always been the skinny one- who can eat anything and not gain a pound. On the contrary, I used to eat my feelings and boredom away, and continued to gain weight at a rapid 10lbs/yr since college, eventually tipping the scale at 160(I m 5 4.) It didn t help that I led an already sedentary lifestyle, and tried to eat(or ate more than) my partner who worked out for three hours everyday and ate 4,000 calories to maintain his physique. The truth is, I still have bad days. Hell, in the last month, I had a night nearly crying on the floor because I ate so much that it physically hurt. But I digress, failure is the most optimal way to learn. Even after my drastic weight loss, I found myself justifying over-indulging for special events- but then everything became a special event. I had an experience recently where I ate within my means and didn t justify eating any dessert- something I had never done at a special event. It was the first time in a while that I felt I had made a big step in my journey. I don t know if food will ever not be something that I struggle with, but I do know that my mental and physical health are greater now than they ve been, and even with inevitable failure, I will learn.

  • After a small get away with my fave it s time to get back into routine. I ve always struggled with sustainability with regards to weightloss. This is usually due to being very restrictive and then secretly binging on the foods I ve missed. This is a cycle I ve been stuck in for a few years. I have a terrible relationship with some foods since losing a lot of weight. Being afraid to gain weight has been dictating my life. I m sure a lot of people who have lost a large amount if weight can attest to this. I decided to change my approach and trust in the IIFYM process to an extent. I haven t always gotten it right because starting something new is always a learning curve. I ve finally found what works for me which is slow and gradual progression without restricting my favourite foods and being binge free for the longest period I can remember. I still have a long way to go. However for the first time I m making progress whilst not being afraid of the foods I enjoy or sabotaging my own progress by approaching it with an all or nothing mindset. The all or nothing mindset has just led me to failure time and time again. When something isn t working there is no reason to stick to it. With this new approach I feel as if I ll be able to continually make progress and make it sustainable.(Always use the left for a comparison picture as it s one I particularly hate).

  • I have unfortunately proven to myself within a week that it is impossible to maintain a super lean physique on half board. I laugh at it because if I didn t laugh, I d probably cry lol. Basically anything other than the high protein, low fat and low carb diet I was following back home just won t work! Which is also the reason why fitness competitors gain some weight outside their competing seasons- it is hard to stick to a limited selection of foods for the rest of your days. And this is coming from me, someone who loves staying lean and therefore will eat like most won t. Now, I ve never said it s super easy but it s something you do because you know what you re getting in return of exercising self control. Most don t see the point of it, so if I was to have a conversation about staying lean, 9/10 people would tell me not to worry about it. And a little part of me loves to hear that, it s like getting permission from someone to eat whatever like lol. But the majority of me screams and panics: Are you crazy, you can t let your diet go, you ve worked so hard! I suppose at least I know I can get it back. I don t know how many of you can relate to this, but I felt the need to share as I ve been going insane for the last few days. At first I had the gym to keep my body in check and now that I ve avoided the gym because of my heat rash, I just feel miserable. One would think I m going through some serious existential crisis right now(and maybe I am lol) but what I ve learnt from past mistakes is that no matter what worries us, we must share. A problem shared is a problem halved, even if it is as shallow as mine lol!. I had a rogue breakfast this morning, two pancakes and bread with cheese and ham- I was so fed up eggs and bacon, I needed a break Also, this photo is from three days ago as my abdominal definition is disappearing but I m trying to hold onto it as well as I can lol. At this point I m just grateful I don t have to partake in a massive Christmas dinner as that would probably be the end of me.

  • The real reason why I don t do all inclusive. For years I have wondered what makes people book all-inclusive holidays. To spend an extra 500- 1000 for a week or two to overeat three times a day plus drink all the alcohol they can because it s free and then return home and complain how they ve gained 5kg. First of all, those meals and drinks aren t free- you already paid for them. And quite dearly too! I hate to be the bearer of bad news but a few nibbles from the store are much cheaper(as are sometimes meals eaten outside your resort in certain locations, i.e. Thailand. Hi, LJ!) As an exception, in locations like the Maldives having full board or higher is recommended as paying for a separate meal daily would break the bank. But when you travel there, you go all out anyway. My favourite holiday is a self-catering holiday(apartment/villa). I get to choose what I eat, when I eat and I only spend and use as much as I need. My second favourite is half board(hotel) as any means to cook own food are not available so I might as well cover two important meals and try avoid overeating the rest of the time. Also, in a warm climate we tend to not crave carbs much, so having some protein rich nibbles from the store or the bar are a brilliant solution. This information is not just to avoid piling on the pounds but also to save money. Why spend money on all inclusive to drink and overeat and then have to spend time, energy and possibly more money to lose the weight gained If we look at it this way, surely it doesn t sound desirable. At the end of the day, it all boils down to priorities and I defy you to disagree. Maybe I m a vain girl who just cares more about her health and abs than she does of deep fried chicken and chocolate cake. Or maybe I m a woman, a mother and a Nutritionist who just wants to help people make informed decisions and stay on track. What s your take on this

  • Nutrition when away from home should be just as important as when home. So the following advice technically applies to every day, however comes in especially handy when catering is done by someone else. I posted my breakfast on my story earlier and asked a question whether or not I had carbs for breakfast aside from the churros. I will answer that question later in the stories! For now I wanted to give you my top tips on what to eat when you re away from home, especially during holidays. Whether you re having dinners with friends/family or have flown out of the country, there are some simple tips to follow to still stay on top of your diet. 1) rule of thumb- vegetables and lots of them. Whenever or wherever, always load up your plate with veg first(go easy on oily roasted veg and go for the ones that are steamed or lightly cooked). When at restaurants, go for salads or see if they ll steam some veg for you on request. 2) all the protein- turkey, chicken and wild meats are the best choices as they re the leanest. Beef and pork are very tasty, just try to go for the less fatty cuts or trim the excess fat off yourself. Try to avoid lamb(luckily I can t stand the stuff lol) as it is a very fatty meat. 3) take it easy on the carbs- especially when you re not doing physical exercise, your body doesn t actually require carbohydrates to function. It can just as well function on body fat stores and assist you with fat loss. Planning your carbohydrate intake wisely will assist changing your body composition greatly as your muscle cells will become far more sensitive to carbs and start to utilise them better. Result- a tighter, more trimmed physique. 4) fruits and sugars- have fruit instead of sugar laden desserts. If you must try a bit of everything, see if you can share the portions or get a tiny helping to get a taste. Enjoy your time off!

  • Quorn& mycoprotein- the GOOD& the BAD- Part 3/3. SWIPE through photos provided because- hear this- you won t find any of the nutritional values of mycoprotein on the actual packaging nor on Quorn s website. Interestingly enough it has its own page(which I stumbled on by accident), mycoprotein.com. Don t know about you but when I buy beef patties, I don t expect the main ingredient to have a website Or buy crisps and then go to www.potato.com to find out what my food has been made of. In an attempt to show transparency they have provided proofs of studies and all health benefits of mycoprotein on the website. Ironically, two of the studies available to read on cholesterol had been conducted on 22 and 21 persons respectively. The only published study on satiety had 13 participants. These results are unreliable and have a very large margin of error(-31). For a study to be reliable and to apply to the general public, it is necessary to have AT LEAST 500-1000 participants for a 0.045-0.032 margin of error. Anything under a 100 participants(which is the standard amount of participants for most of your small gym and short term food studies- yes, it s shocking!) is more of an experiment.(Hey, I didn t do my 7 day diet and call it a study for crying out loud!). At the end of the day you ll have to make up your own mind about Quorn. Seemingly healthy but at what cost Definitely not for those with fungi/mould allergies. For everyone else- everything in moderation I guess. Always look into anything that doesn t make sense or seems suspicious! I would definitely look into the fusarium venenatum/graminearum situation as I m pretty sure the latter is toxic. I ve also just discovered that mycoprotein needs to be purified because ammonia is used in the production. Do you remember zero calorie noodles Covered in calcium hydroxide and simply need to be soaked before eating. Yes, go and google that right now. What s your take on all this Leave a comment!

  • At the Quarry Turkey Trot with my mom. This is my favorite 10k course, especially early in the morning. There is always mist hanging over the lakes, and it s pretty rain or shine. Brazen does a good job of marking the course too and having adequate water stops. The best part is their shirts and finisher medals in my opinion. My mom mentioned that she doesn t want to pay to run or walk fun runs any more, so I m a little bummed out. Who else am I supposed to go to a race with and not run with Running for me is a solitary sport. Although my yoga practice is much much different, the brain game feels very similar. Running is a little Zen for me because I listen to the cadence of my foodsteps and the texture of my breath, and in yoga, I focus on my breathing and the sound of my heartbeat.

  • How do you keep track of your training routines In the past, I ve always just used Google calendar with whatever training program I ve created or decided to use. This time, I decided to put it in my bullet journal, that way I can see how everything fits with everything else. I m always very strict about getting in my long run, but I don t worry about shuffling around the shorter runs throughout the week. This particular training schedule is Hal Higdon because I m more out of shape than my original plan took into account. I used it for my 2014 Napa Valley Marathon, too. Let the training begin!.

  • At the beginning of 2017 I was sitting at 182 lbs feeling a lack of motivation to do anything other than sit on the couch and watch tv. I began to think about what type of life I wanted to live and it wasn t this one. So in June I began a journey to better myself both physically and mentally. An hour or more at the gym 6 days a week trying to push past old limits and set new goals for myself. I tossed out the chips and sodas and replaced them with healthier options. None of this was easy whatsoever but what kept me going was the motivation and confidence that I could make a change in my life for the better. As of now I am sitting at 160 lbs and feeling a self confidence I have never felt before. I feel comfortable being who I am and how I look. Don t give up on yourself because who knows what lies just around the corner. 2017 was great but 2018 will be even better.

Ingredients: 1 avocado medium sized, ripe 2 Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder 2 Tablespoons honey 6 Tablespoons milk optional: pistachios or other nut for topping Instructions: Cut open the avocado and scoop out the pit. Cut it into large chunks and put in the blender. Add the cocoa, honey, milk. Blend, starting on low and then moving to high speed until it is smooth. If it is too thick, drizzle in a bit more milk.   • Week 1 waist down 1 inch ⠀⠀⠀ What a badass week too! I get really lost without goals- is anyone else like that And no, I m not training for a show I just have a wild hair to create something completely new! Transcend to a higher level ⠀⠀⠀ I really didn t change much this week, I just cut fats down and hiked twice, which I m pretty much obsessed with! It s excellent bonding time with the puppers and God ⠀⠀⠀ I see a lot of people add too much too soon! 6 days of cardio off the bat, eliminate way too many calories, take fat burners, etc. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ You want to make tiny changes and allow your body to run with it until it no longer stimulates change! THEN you add in another factor OR you add to it. Meaning, I ll use me as an example: I only cut down my fats which is a caloric deficiency compared to what I was consuming! If I still lose fat this week at these calories, I will NOT change anything. If I do not lose fat, I will either a. Drop fat again(I started super high) OR b. Add in 20 min of HIIT cardio ONE day that week. That s it. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ Small, seemingly insignificant changes, compounded over time yield lasting results ⠀⠀⠀ If I can change this much in a week, I wonder what you can do New week, endless possibilities get after it, friends!

  • After just having a bomb conversation with a client/friend, I realized something VERY important. Losing fat is very simple, IF you understand what you need to do. But with all the info out there, it can be very overwhelming ⠀ How many carbs should i eat I heard putting butter in my coffee makes me lose weight fast Should I buy detox tea I see on IG Should I skip breakfast Should I do keto Is bread good or bad Do I need to eat 6 times a day to lose weight ⠀ I could go on for hours about this ⠀ I want to teach you the way I learn, SUPER SIMPLE. I get overwhelmed very easily and I want to help you so lets go bare basics, capeesh!;) ⠀ 1. My last post discusses maintenance calories(please go back and look at it for reference). Lets talk about FAT LOSS calories now Doesn t matter if you are keto, vegan, paleo, iifym, bodybuilder- you need to be CONSISTENTLY in a caloric deficit. Yes, each diet has different health benefits, but we are discussing fat loss as our primary focus. To calculate fat loss calories: goal body weight x 11-12= calories/day. This is going to give you a range, start at the higher end and take notes of how your weight adjusts over the next 2-4 weeks. NOT 2-4 days, give it time! When your weight loss plateus, THEN go to the lower amount in that range! You want to lose weight at the most calories possible for as long as possible. If you re one of my clients, you know this phrase: We are magicians, we need to keep as many tricks up our sleeve as possble because plateaus WILL happen. Often. You succeed long term by preparing for them. ⠀ 2. Find your protein intake target. Multiply GOAL body weight x.7-1 to find your protein goal in grams. This will ensure that your getting enough protein to support growing and repairing your muscles. ⠀ 3. Focus on WHOLE FOODS, its okay to have a few treats and indicentals, but you want at least 80 to come from whole foods and have a little but more fun with the other 20. ⠀ I hope this helps!   • Gluten-Free Fit Pumpkin Muffins Makes: 12 muffins INGREDIENTS: 1 cup pure pumpkin 1 ½ cup dry oats* ½ cup almond flour* ½ cup honey ½ cup almond milk(or milk of choice) ¼ cup mini chocolate chips* 1 teaspoon cinnamon ¼ teaspoon salt ½ teaspoon baking powder DIRECTIONS: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Line a 12-cup muffin tin with muffin cups. Place the oats in a food processor and pulse until mostly ground. Add in the pure pumpkin, almond flour, honey, salt, cinnamon, and almond milk. Pulse until mostly smooth. Add in the mini chocolate chips and baking powder. Pulse for 10 seconds. Spoon the batter evenly into the muffin cups. Bake for 17-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out of the center of the muffins clean. Allow to slightly cool before enjoying.*If you have Celiac disease or any gluten sensitivities, make sure that your oats, chocolate chips, and almond flour are certified gluten-free. Nutrition facts per muffin: 139 calories, 5g fat, 25g carbs, 2.4g fiber, 3g protein

  • Chocolate& Coffee Mousse Chia Pudding Tag a friend who would love it! By For the chia base:-1/3 cup of chia seeds-¾ cup of almond milk-A dash of vanilla extract-1 tablespoon of maple syrup(optional) For the crumble layer:-½ cup of almond-5 pitted dates-1 tablespoon of cacao powder For the chocolate& coffee mousse:-¾ cup of cashew soaked for at least 8 hours or overnight-40 gr of good quality dark chocolate-2 tablespoon of strong brewed coffee-2 tablespoon of coconut cream-1/3 cup of almond milk-2 tablespoon of maple syrup Toppings:-Dark chocolate chunks-Cacao nibs Some crumbled cookies of your choice Start by chia pudding. Place the chia seeds into a bowl and add the almond milk, maple syrup and vanilla extract. Mix everything well together, I like to use a whisk to avoid any lumps. Once you have a smooth consistency place it in the fridge for at least 1 hour to thicken up. The chia pudding is ready when is thick and creamy and kid of gloopy consistency. To make the crumble layer: place all the ingredients into a food processor and blitz until you have a crumbly and slightly sticky mixture. Leave it onto one side. To make the mousse: drain and rinse the cashews, place them into a food processor and all the other ingredients. Add the coffee, coconut cream, almond milk, maple syrup(don t add the chocolate at this point). Blend everything until you have a creamy and smooth consistency. Scoop out about a bit less half of the mixture and place it into a bowl while you are making the chocolate layer. Add the melted chocolate to mixture in the blender and blend again until smooth. Make sure the other ingredients are room temperature and not straight from the fridge as the melted chocolate might split in reaction to that. To assemble: place half of chia pudding into each jar/ glass, add the nutty crumble and pour the coffee cream on top follow by the chocolate. Top with your favourite toppings and enjoy! If you like a thicker consistency you can refrigerate the parfaits(without toppings) for 1 hour. ENJOY

INGREDIENTS:-1 Recipe Slow Cooker Mexican Chicken-6 burrito size tortillas-1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese-Olive oilor nonstick cooking spray-Cheesy Green Chili Sour Cream Sauce-2 tablespoons olive oil-1 tablespoon butter-3 tablespoons flour-2 cups low sodium chicken broth, warmed-1/2 teaspoon cumin-1/2 teaspoon salt-1/4 teaspoon pepper-1/2 cup sour cream-1/24 oz. can mild chopped green chilies, or more to taste-1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese-Hot sauce to taste(optional)-Optional Toppings-Tomatoes-Avocados/guacamole-Cilantro-Salsa-Tortilla strips or chips INSTRUCTION: Prepare Mexican Chicken according to recipe directions. Drain any excess liquid from chicken. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with foil and add a baking rack on top. Prepare burritos by adding a heaping 1/2 cup filling to each tortilla(uncooked if using raw tortillas), top with desired amount of cheese and roll up burrito style. Place burritos on the baking rack and brush both sides lightly with olive oil or spray with nonstick cooking spray. Cook for 18-20 minutes or until golden. Broil to desired crispiness, flip over and broil the other side until golden. Meanwhile, prepare Sauce by melting butter in olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook, stirring constantly for 3 minutes. Reduce heat to low then gradually whisk in chicken broth. Add spices and bring to a simmer while stirring until thickened, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in green chilies, cheese until melted then sour cream. Add hot sauce to taste(optional). To serve, top burritos Cheesy Green Chili Sour Cream Sauce and desired toppings. ENJOY!

  • Stuffed Avocado with Prawns and Mango Salsa By Ingredients:-2 Hass Avocados halved& destoned-12 Prawns cooked/thawed as necessary-50 ml(3-4 tbsp) Sweet Chilli Sauce-1 Fresh Mango destoned& finely diced-1 Red Onion finely diced-1 Red Chilli deseeded& finely diced-2 tbsp Fresh Coriander finely diced-Juice of 1 Lime-Good drizzle of Extra Virgin Olive Oil-Salt& Black Pepper to taste Directions: Before you get started on chopping your ingredients, pop your Prawns and Sweet Chilli Sauce in a bowl, coat well and leave to marinate whilst preparing the salsa. Carefully scoop out some of the Avocado from the pitted area, finely dice and combine in a bowl with your Mango, Onion, Chilli, Coriander, Lime Juice, Olive Oil and Seasoning. Scoop back in to your Avocado skins and top with 3 Prawns per Avocado half. Recipe Notes a) Aim to get slightly firmer Avocados and Mango than your usual. This will help hold shape and ensure the salad doesn t turn mushy when combined. b) If you like a little less heat to replace the Red Chilli with Capsicum.
