  • RESULTS OF DOING 30 DAYS OF THE 90 THYROID REHAB In case you were wondering or was thinking about doing the.I thought I would share what has happened after doing this for 30 days. And just to be clear I did Combo A of the 3 choices to choose from. The first 2 week s were somewhat challenging. I had fatigue and brain fog, which made completing daily tasks difficult.   • OIL FREE FRENCH FRIES& PARSLEY PINE NUT DRESSING Recipe for Oil Free French Fries Ingredients. 4 Russet Potatoes Sea Salt-preheat the oven at 400 degrees-wash& peel the potatoes-bring a large pot of water to boil, season with a bit of salt-cut potatoes into French Fries, about 1/2 to 3/4 thick-once water is rapidly boiling add potatoes, boil for about 6-7 mins, it s better to undercook then to overcook as they will fall apart-drain the water from the pot& set aside-line a baking sheet with parchment paper& place the potatoes evenly spaced apart making sure they aren t touching each other-bake for 20 mins, then flip them& bake for another 20 mins or until you are satisfied with its color. This is a cooking time for 2 trays of potatoes. If you are using one you may want to check it at around 15 mins Recipe for Parsley Pine Nut Dressing Ingredients. 2 cups of raw pine nuts 2 medium size garlic cloves 2 1/2 tsp of onion powder 2 1/2 tsp of dried parsley 1 tsp of sea salt or seasoned to desired taste Juice from half a medium size lemon, you may add more if needed 1 1/2 cup of water-place all ingredients except the water in a blender-add 1 cup of water& blend, starting at a slow speed& then gradually increasing to its max. This will ensure it will blend smoothly-at this point add more water& blend to thin out the dressing, if you want it thick use less water Now this meal is a great way to get a bunch of cilantro in your diet. What I like do is finely chop the cilantro, then place it in a bowl. Take a French Fry and dip it in the dressing then dip it in the cilantro. It s sooooo delicious and it makes eating cilantro so easy!

  • How to hack your focus levels.- There s no science behind this, but here is my process of using diet, exercise and supplements to focus on working to the best of my abilities.- Wake up and have a hydrotherapy shower- 15 mins of yoga- 1 L-Tyrosine tablet- Fish& eggs for breakfast- 1 berocca before lunch- Salad for lunch- Gym at around 5pm- 1 L-Theanine tablet to help me sleep later- Fish, veggies and carbs for dinner- That s what works for me, but it might not be right for you.   • Ahhhh- the highs and lows of training. Last week, despite fatigue, my body showed up and performed. This morning I woke up tired, feeling heavy and stiff and relatively unsuccessfully suffered my way through a swim session(as Said- I was hurting his eyes to watch me train today). A few years ago I would have been so upset to not perform up to standard, but I know well enough now that for all the great work comes fatigue and sometimes you need a rest. Thankfully is a good egg and changed up what was to be a longer day in favor of a bit more recovery to begin prep for a big hard weekend ahead. I m super motivated right now so looking forward to a good nap on my to recharge and get after it this weekend!.:

  • I m so excited and I just can t hide it!. or not really! As November rains are present almost every day now, I find myself scrolling my photo gallery searching for joy and sun beams.   • Doing a one day juice cleanse today! One of my kids is joining me(teenager) so this isn t even all the juice we will need for today, but it s a start! The last time I did a juice cleanse I did it for three days, and it led me to do the 28 Day raw cleanse and it basically changed my life. I had already been on the way of eating for 2 mos or so, but these little upgrades took my healing and my awareness of my body to new heights.   • I m a control freak. Not when it comes to other people- I m a big believer in the live and let live philosophy- but for mySELF and my LIFE, oh yea, major control freak. In fact, when I don t feel like I have TOTAL control over my life(reality check: we always do), my anxiety shoots through the roof and makes it seem as though I have no control at all- whichhhh in turn sends my mind into a crazy tailspin of worst case scenarios. It s really freaking exhausting. ⠀ ⠀ I wish I had a really profound life lesson/solution to share here but the reality is that I struggle with this on a daily basis. Exercise and nutrition help- they give me CONTROL over my health and a RELEASE for anxiety. But I can t workout all day long just to feel control. That would be insane. And counterproductive. Anyway, as I am always in student mode, looking to learn and grow and adapt and shift- I learned today that my desire and need for control stems from my EGO and while I am certain there s a lot more digging and learning to be done around that, I ll leave you(and myself) with this: ⠀ ⠀ EGO says, once everything falls into place, I will find peace. ⠀ ⠀ SPIRIT says, find peace and everything will fall into place. ⠀ ⠀ ⠀

  • I absolutely love weighted blankets. The company that made this one has nice blankets but I reached out to CS 3 times for advice on what to do with the no answers. I hand stitched the area seen in the pic of you swipe to the right but I have 10 other areas I need to hand stitch as well. I m going to have to modify and add two more anchor points because shifting has been a major issue for weighted blankets. The other shell is perfect it s just the inner part. If you get a weighted blanket always measure it first. Mine is a bit shorter both LxW vs. what is advertised but it doesn t bother me. Then take the inner part out and go over every single pouch to check the stitching and make sure they re filling in it. One of my pockets doesn t have filling, only pellets. I m going to have to find a seamstress to help with that fix. I do truly love this blanket and I m thankful to have it. Overall I would recommend it but it will probably need to be sewn so be prepared. Feel free to DM me with pics if you re wondering if yours is going to need to be sewn or not. The issue is if it s not correctly sewn the beads can filter into different pockets and the weight of the blanket will not be evenly distributed which is important.

This film is moving, emotional, powerful, and harshly true about how chronically ill people and their families, are treated.- From a regular physician I was diagnosed with CFS, from a Lyme specialist I was diagnosed with Lyme disease, and had I gone to a Lupus specialist, I probably would have been diagnosed with Lupus. Point being, why do all of these patients have Ebstein-Barr, Shingles, HSV1! Hmmm- I was blessed to have been guided to the truth! Myself and many of the MM COMMUNITY, was once where you were Jen before we started healing. My goal for this post is to spread the word about chronic illness and this amazing documentary!   • 30 Day Cranberry Challenge Re-cap! I have just finished the Cranberry Challenge and I m excited to share my results with you all! This experience was really amazing, because not only did I get to watch the effect the cranberries had on my healing journey, but I also got to be continually amazed by the power of a single food. The cranberries were the only new thing I added to my diet during the 30 day period and I did not miss a day. I usually consumed around a cup of cranberries a day(frozen, blended with 2 cups water and a little maple syrup). BENEFITS- here s what changed: After 2 wks of daily cranberries my POTS symptoms markedly decreased. I went from tolerating less than 10 min on my feet to HOURS. I used to need to ice my chest every day, usually more than once a day, now I have ice once in 2 weeks and it s because I was on my feet for hours. Each time I drink cranberries I notice a mood lift pretty quickly that usually lasts the whole day. As someone who still has depression from time to time, this was an obvious difference SYMPTOMS- I experienced loads of detox symptoms in the beginning, even in the first few days. Break outs on my face and chest, which cleared up a few days later. Twice in the 30 days I had a migraine day(before I had migraines weekly- they ve disappeared since! But during detox they sometimes return). I noticed lots of new or odd symptoms during my period, it arrived early, lasted longer and was clearly cleansing stuff out if you know what I mean. At first the crans were way too tart for me and I had to force them down, within a few days my body was craving them like crazy! I took a couple days off cranberries after day 30 just to take a break and I can definitely tell my body is missing them. Having some today was like a happy reunion! Thank you so much for the challenge and encouragement to do this! Life changing being able to be back in the kitchen, on my feet, able to prepare foods we need and love.

  • Fightin off strep like whoa! Day 1 of the 30 day cranberry challenge. I have a bladder that s begging to be free from strep as well as continued(strep caused) acne breakouts. I saw was hosting this challenge, it resonated so I jumped in. THEN I read about what cranberries can do and basically was amazed again.   • So hopefully today is going to be a hair washing day, woop! I bet my mum didn t think she d still be washing my hair for me at 30 Excuse the awful photo of me but I wanted to show me smiling through it.* Years ago, having to resign myself to a disability aid like this would have killed me and the smile would ve likely been tears. But now, 13 years after first becoming ill, there is an acceptance there that makes the hellish experience that is ME a little easier to bare.* The feeling of hot water and a head massage usually after a few weeks of unwashed hair is bliss so it s actually hard not to smile. My mum also spends most of the time laughing at me as I ooh and aah!* I just wanted to highlight to any of you who re recently diagnosed or struggling with shame, guilt, that there is an acceptance that comes with this illness. It took me a long time but I m there. And you will get there too if you re not already. And actually, it takes a f*ing lot of strength to stand up to ME. An aid like this isn t giving in or weak or shameful, it is saying NO you won t stop me and YES I will carry on because I m stronger than you.* Happy Saturday all, I hope you re able to do something that makes you feel your strength today x

  • Our perception defines our experience. Being diagnosed and living year after year with an untreatable illness, it s only human nature this can lead to a sometimes all-consuming fear. Fear for your future, fear in inexplicable symptoms, fear even just overdoing it from one day to the next. It s even a feeling that can lead to shame, did I do this to myself Whilst it can be scary(oh the irony in fearing fear), it s not something we should resist and definitely not something we should feel ashamed of. Our perspective on a situation, defines our experience of it. If we look to the next moment, well what s scary about that Unless you happen to be standing on an actual cliff edge, and it does feel like that sometimes, chances are you can get to the next moment and be ok. We need to have belief to fight the fear. Belief in recovery is so important, even if recovery just means an improvement in symptoms. Although sometimes it feels it s working against us, the body wants to heal and is doing all it can to do so. If your mind is working against that, telling your body in fear, I m never going to recover, I m never going to live my life again, it not only creates suffering but also a disjoint between mind and body, and you start working against yourself. When you believe in your mind that recovery is possible, it supports your body, it lets it do its job. I m not saying that s all there is to it and in NO way am I saying recovery is all in the mind either, it goes way beyond that. But it s a good place to start. Have belief, have hope, have conviction that you will get there. I have brought myself back from being bedbound before and I m confident that I will do it again. So what s to say you won t too

  • Firework is simply a explosion masked by a cheerfull front that s how humans can be too. Let me explain. Acting happier than you really are, we all do it or have done it. We are scared to lay our hardship out for everyone to see we hide it by acting a different way. On the inside out emotions are bubbling waiting to explode, whatever we may be facing or going through. It s not healthy but here we are a lot of us still do it, so do I. I m trying to change that and the way I feel comfortable doing that is through my passion: make-up. You know make-up always gets viewed as dolling up and being a pretty girl but it s not just that. Make-up is art. It is. A lot of people won t agree It s just make-up, but for me it expresses my emotions. I can use my face as a blank canvas and pour my heart on it. Like I did today. We all have battles and struggles that we go through and finding ways to unload it in a healthy way is a beautiful thing. It s the first time creating a look like this and it felt awesome, I was able to reflect my emotions on my face. The outerlayer looks cheerfull and colourful but the inside is red and hurt. And that s okay to admit. If anyone read this till the end I challenge you to portray your deepest emotions through something you love: makeup, drawing, cooking whatever. You don t even have to share it but just doing it will make you feel a bit better believe me.   • Today is Day 3 of the 30 day cranberry challenge with I have definitely noticed detox symptoms. Headaches after drinking it, every time. Yesterday I broke out in little bumps on my face and upper chest. Those bumps are nearly gone today, but now I have broken out in large-ish pimples all over my jawline on both sides. Not to worry though! First of all, these are normal symptoms for me whenever I m doing an intentional liver detox. I immediately start cleansing out of my skin Second, these symptoms aren t crazy debilitating so I can ignore them and move on. Third- and most important. IT IS WORTH IT. This shows me even more how badly my liver needs this special attention at the moment. And how angry the strep in my body is too. But guess what I notice it lift up my mood almost immediately and it lasts the whole day. I imagine as the days go on that effect will last longer and longer as my liver is flushing itself out. I m more joyful and having fun, laughing more! I love being my own lab experiment lately. Love seeing what plants can do and how amazing they are at healing our bodies!

  • I often feel like everybody is strong and optimistic here IG. Well, I m not. OK, maybe I am strong, but certainly not optimistic. More often than not I feel that it doesn t matter if I m strong or weak. The end result is the same: there is so much I want to fight for, but my body won t let me. I want to go out, go somewhere, take a trip maybe. Go on vacation, take a plane somewhere, anywhere. Do you know I ve never been on a vacation with my kids or my hubbie I ve never been on a plane(not because I m scared, but because I m always sick and there s always money trouble). I want to go to the gym, work out, like I used to do. But my body is just not letting me. I am just surviving every day. I can t make plans, have to cancel nearly all social events. I m stuck here, on the couch or in my bed. Life is passing me by, and there is nothing I can do about it. When I have a relatively good day, and I try to go out, or do some housecleaning, I always have to pay for it. I m in pain all the time, and only when I m lying under a duvet and do literally nothing, I can handle it- sort of. Today there s a surprise party for a friend for which I was invited. How I d love to go, and socialize, have fun, be alive for once! But I can t, it s too far and I can t force myself even if I tried to. I could elaborate on all my illnesses/symptoms/conditions, but I don t know where to start. There is so much going on right now. Imagine a body, from head to toe. Imagine all the parts, like head, neck, ear, finger, wrist, stomach, intestines, knee, anckle, you name it. I don t think there s a square inch of me that s not being affected by one or more of my ailments. My bones, my muscles, my tendons and my skin hurt all the time. Some are chronically inflamed. My stomach, my back, my neck, my pelvis, my bladder, my belly, my legs, my hands, my ancles, my feet, my head and my eyes hurt. All the time. My ears don t hurt. But I m going crazy of this ongoing tinnitus. OK, you get my point. So, no, I am not optimistic. I love my husband to pieces, my daughters are everything to me, I have the most lovely cat and dog you can imagine. But I am also very sad. Broken.

  • Made some gluten free and grain free tortilla/fry bread dough a few days ago, and used that today to whip up a few quick homemade tortillas for a pre-dinner feast! Stuffed them with butter lettuce and this vegan smoked cheddar spread and they were DELISH! Kept it simple this time, but would be yummy with some sprouts and peppers and any other veg too. Don t really have a recipe for the tortillas- I used two cups of cassava flour, added in a cup of water and a cup of almond milk, teensy bit of olive oil(like 1tsp) and some salt and onion powder. I ended up adding a lot more flour(didn t measure) to get the right dough consistency. Also added more salt. Fun experiment that I will definitely be doing again because all 4 kids liked them and that NEVER happens! We often make fry bread on the fire when camping, with a similar recipe of throw things in and try it and see what happens Have fun!

  • I ve been wanting my own pendulum for a long time now.- My massage/bioenergetic therapist came over last night for a 90min deep tissue massage that evolved into a bioenergetic scan with some really cool technology(future post to come). The session ended in him gifting me this rose quartz pendulum after interpreting my scan s results.- He said the rose quartz was calling for me and could help me with self-love and acceptance.- Now. I know I needed some body work and some energy work yesterday. and I knew there was a chance I d feel too much detox the next morning. But HOLY SMOKES. I woke up with a migraine which is the worst kind because you can t tell how long you ve had it or how long it s going to last. Plus you don t get the visual loss that warns you of the pain s onset. You re just thrust into the middle of the week with the worst pain. Not only that but migraines really mess up my stomach. I tried to go back to sleep because sometime if I can, when I wake up the migraine is gone. It didn t really work that way this morning. I finally gave up around 1pm and got up and drank some pink salt, magnesium and potassium. Then I asked the pendulum what to do. The pendulum s response to the question should I go get IV treatment was yes. So I did and that helped a lot. Now I m just dealing with stomach upset that comes with migraines detox and GOT DAMN it is for real.- I also asked if I should sleep alone tonight and the pendulum obviously said yes.   • Let s break the fast!. 2 doctor s appointments. fasted for 24 hours. worked-out and sauna-ed. mailed some stuff. made some calls. productive day off I did what I had to do and I m still trying to squeeze a little bit more work into my random day off.   • Wellness is less about what you know and more about the balance you cultivate between different ways of knowing. If you are on the search for understanding a particular illness or wanting to optimize your health, it can be incredibly overwhelming initially. There is so much information out there sometimes it is hard to know where to start or if something is right for you. One approach to sifting through the clutter and gaining clarity is by equally developing all faculties of knowing. Paul Bergner, a well known herbalist, argues that there are four primary ways of gaining knowledge science, experiential, intuitive, and wisdom, and that we need to have balance between them all, otherwise it can be dangerous. In our western culture, science has become the predominant way of validating information. Consequently, other methods of knowing have become mocked as inferior. While science plays a tremendous role in bringing about change and innovation, it is the synergy between the different ways of knowing that makes knowledge truly powerful; one is not necessarily superior over another. If I were to apply this to learning about a new product or wellness therapy, I might intuitively check in to see if it resonated with my body(intuitive), listen to what other people had to say about it(wisdom), understand the science behind it(science), and then if it all aligned I would try it out(experiential). Not every product or therapy is going to be meant for you, even if the science and reviews are exceptionally compelling. If something doesn t feel right, it is just as important to trust the knowledge you get from your body. Which way of knowing are you the most comfortable with or accustomed to, and is there one you d like to work on more.

Just because there is acceptance, doesn t mean there will never be resistance. Just because there is happiness, doesn t mean there will never be sadness. Just because you live in the present, doesn t mean you won t think about the future. We do our best to be the positive, radiant light of hope. We will recover. We will think positive. We will be grateful. But we re still human. Instead, it s about learning to be content with whichever moment is happening to you right now. Finding peace whether it s sadness or happiness. Today I am sad. I am tired. Utterly exhausted of being utterly exhausted all the time. I want a day off. I am tired of justifications. I am tired of saying no. I am tired of the pressure. I am tired of the constant questions. Today I have cried& in that I have felt a release. Now, working with my breathe, I am trying to be content in this sadness. I am superhuman in the fight but I am not insane. I try to be positive but that won t happen all the time. So I m finding peace with my sadness today& turns out it is possible. Don t be afraid of fear, anger, sadness, anxiety, it is the human condition. It is part of recovery, it is part of the day. Don t see it as weakness, failure, a step backwards. It s okay if you feel these things. but it s possible to accept them rather than fight against them. And if you can t accept them, try to be content with that non-acceptance. The important thing is not to fight against yourself. it s the fight that makes you suffer. Save that for taking on the day.   • CHICKEN& VEGETABLE SOUP.forget the noodles! Place 1-2 pounds of chicken in a crockpot. Add water to cover the chicken. Add seasonings of choice(thyme, oregano, sea salt). Cook in crockpot for 4 hours. Chop carrots& celery. Add to crockpot. Cook for 2 more hours for a total of 6 hours. Put in bowl and and add 1 T coconut oil& 1 tsp Celtic sea salt. ENJOY
