Method of calculating popularity and how to use it.
  • On Instagram the popularity of a particular hashtag is equal to the frequency of its use.
    The frequency of use is the number of posts on Instagram with a specific hashtag.
    It follows from this that the popularity of a set of hashtags is the total number of posts of all hashtags included in the set.
  • The more popular a hashtag set is, the more likes and followers you can get from it.
    At the same time, the more popular a set of hashtags, the faster you have to add it to the description of the post or comment to it, because the feed of hashtags is chronological and posts on more popular hashtags quickly replace each other at the top of the feed.
How to understand and use color codes (red, orange, yellow)?

  • I m pretty sure the girls are loving the new dog cart. We went out again today and they did about a mile and a half of pulling. Had some moments where Storm couldn t contain her distraction. but also some moments where we passed people and bikers and they both stayed the course. Frankie is a rockstar at it. Once she s going she has an attitude of nothing else matters. We held a speed of about 18 mph for about 3/4 of a mile and then had to turn around and we got right back to speed. Did you know there is an app for your iPhone called Mushometer to track things like that. Who knew Can t wait to take them out regularly. After I m back from London. Also can t wait to meet up with our mushing friends and try this with a sled in two weeks.

  • The hip thrust is a good way to strengthen the glutes and it is one of my go to exercises to progress to when you can activate the glutes properly on the floor. Unfortunately it s sometimes challenging to load the exercise since you have to put weight over the pelvis.  This can be uncomfortable or a bulky object can limit range of motion i.e the sandbag. My go to option would be to use a barbell but that can get very uncomfortable for some people and I don t have one in my d*mn gym! That s where the TRX strap comes in. You can loop it around weight plates and place it over your waist. This will properly load the mass over your center of gravity. Using the strap method allows you to comfortably thrust away and get those glutes lit without having to worry about sh*t digging into your pubic bone. I like using the 10lb weights because they let me go full range and if I want to pile on more weight I can use the Kettlebell which is a good tool that fits the pelvis. You could also go single leg hip thrust with this method, which is more intelligent programing and I would highly recommend attempting that first(body weight) especially if you are an athlete training for your sport. Make sure you are using the your glutes to power the movement. This is a good mind muscle connection exercise where you can really feel the glutes fire. The torso needs to be stable and flattened with the motion purely coming from the hips and not much tilting of the pelvis. I m not the genius who thought of this exercise but I want to spread the good word. Gotta give credit where credit is due. Found this digging around on Michael Boyle s strengthcoach.com.   • A proportional ratio of horizontal pushing to pulling is ideal and will help avoid any muscular imbalances.  Especially when going from desk jockey to full on gains mode in the new year. Posture related aches and pains have steadily been increasing over the years and going to the gym with muscular imbalances due to bad posture and doing exercises that feed into those imbalances can worsen those issues.  Many people prioritize pushups and bench press and neglect rowing exercises.  This will lead to an overdevelopment of the pecs and underdevelopment of the back muscles and retractors.  This on top of bad posture is bad news!. Suspension trainers are a good way to keep things proportional.  You are using your body weight and your angle of push can be equal to your angle of pull.

  • Some single leg work for the first of the month. I start the week off with bilateral compound exercises going heavy to feed my ego and then progress to unilateral(single leg/arm) work to keep me grounded and clean up any sloppy movement pattern I may be having. Single leg work will tell you what you need to prioritize in your program and it will help coordinate and stabilize hip, knee and foot movement. You might not be able to lift heavy and losing balance might make you want to launch the weight you re holding across the room, but it is necessary and might be the key to solving any movement issues/pain.   • Since may 2017 I wasnt feeling well. Maybe I can say that I had a hard time with not hitting my businessgoals as fast as I though they would come. Physicly and mentally my body reacted to this. I gained a lot of weight, had more backpain. I was thinking very negative and was not so creative anymore. All combined, it didnt feel like ME. This year I decided to change. Because I knew that for things to change, I NEEDED TO CHANGE. Since the start of 2018 I hit the gym every day(missed 6 days do far in 18). I lost 8kg in bodyfat and gained 6kg in mucle.   • Recovery will yield strength and progress! Correctly timing intense workouts and recovery periods will yield much more progress than repeatedly blitzing the gym and feeling like death.  If impending death is felt and you feel toasted then get 8 hours of sleep instead of doing those 10 extra reps with shitty form and flopping all over the place. Listen to your body don t nuke your central nervous system and screw up your progress.  If you feel like dying go home get some rest, recover, eat well, then go back to the gym with a good attitude and ready to kick some ass. Shoot for the long journey, aim for incremental wins over time. It s not even 2 weeks into the new year. Don t be one of those people that show up at the gym on January 2nd, do some weird looking exercises, over-work themselves, then shortly disappear. Only to be found at the doctors office getting a script written for some physical therapy and medication for blowing their load.
